Is the comic over? It would be nice to have a little confirmation or something.

Please, no. I don't want it to end. Ending it would be like treating anxiety disorder with a anti-depressant (lol, VE reference).

What's to prevent us from lending her some interim material?

Nothing, besides the facts that we don't have the ability to access and edit the website, and Erin has gone completely incommunicado, so any material sent
to her might get addressed... sometime next year. Maybe.
I just find it kind of depressingly funny that it seemed to die on the "stumbling forward" comic. *sigh* You know, if she's busy, that's understandable. If she doesn't want to do the comic anymore? Also understandable. But for the love of all things holy and un-, it would take like two seconds to pop on and leave some sort of message as to what's going on.

I'm new, and just read through the whole archives in 2 days. This is awesome. Please tell me there will be more!

It's only been a 3 month hiatus so far. We've had longer. Leave her alone. She'll get back to drawing VE strips when she feels like it. Never

It has been over a year since "regular updates" though ... so I would not hold my breath ...

In the very least we can be happy the site is still up. If she's still paying the monthly bills then it means she still cares about it. Part of me wants to
say "let's advertise this to all our friends" but would that increase the burden? I wonder if there is some way to provide incentive, like
perhaps an appreciation site or how sometimes people make shrines, or would that be creepy? Maybe YouTube thanks?

I think there comes a time in every trans person's life where they simply don't want to associate with other trans people, they would rather forget all
about it. Maybe that finally happened?

Cathy344 wrote: I would agree normally, but again; 2 seconds, "here's what's up. That is all for now." Gone again. I fail to see how that's either complaining or demanding all that much. Also to take into consideration is the fact that a) she's asked for (and recieved) donations, although admittedly few, and b) there's more than a couple of people who, to the best of my knowledge, have still not received the commissions that they paid her in advance for. All things considered, asking for at least a status update doesn't seem out of line.

Well, as long as someone out there can tell me she is physically alive, that's good. I hope shes doing well, really well, that great. I'll keep
checking back, maybe everyday, for more updates.

So, between this, El Goonish Shive, VG Cats, and fanboys-online, there seems to be a HUGE trend in webcomics losing their schedules...
I, too, would like an update on the situation. It's not that we're entitled to one or anything, but I'd still like to know when to expect activity again. Even Dan of EGS manages a newspost when he fails to update his comic on time... I hardly even check this place anymore.. |

Oh, there was a time, young one, when VG Cats updated rather faithfully and more than once a week...
Sometime around the Gunbound strip, it was updating almost as often as Penny Arcade... Fanboys, also, had a good solid 3 months of uninterrupted tri-weekly updates, though he did sometimes scale back with "Mini's," though those were essentially short, uncolored comics that had about as high of quality as the usual strips. On the phenominal comeback side, RPG World had a very, VERY long hiatus, but then returned to finish up the story. |

"So, between this, El Goonish Shive, VG Cats, and fanboys-online, there seems to be a HUGE trend in webcomics losing their schedules... "
It's the lifecycle of almost every webcomic except a minority. "Every weekday!" "M-W-F!" "Monday's And Fridays!" "Once a weekish...!" "Updated whenever!" "...Oh, yeah, I got bored of this like six months ago. Sorry, forgot to tell you guys." From a creative stand point, it can be hard keep focused on a creative project for years at a time. Especially when it's a hobby and not something you're doing as a regular for-pay job. Cause, well, ya know, making a living off your creative work makes motivation a lot easier. |

me personally I can wait, I've waited longer for other comics in the past. I would however like to at least hear from Erin concerning her well being. We
all care about her and weather she is continuing or not we would at least like to know she's ok. I mean even if Dan over at EGS isn't posting he lets
every one know how things are going.

I don't agree with you Amy. While that could be it, it's not like only trans people like this comic. Not to mention, she's not really
'associating' with us in a public sense. Her comic is about WAY more than just being trans anyway.

So are there any real answers out there? Is this comic over? I hope not, it's so good and I really want to read more.
